Celebrate Women!

I continued to write on this post for months now.. and then I would erase, and start over then say forget it. Today seems like a good day to release it. It won’t be long, just some thoughts.

My daughter Layla will be TWO in April. Two in CAPS because it’s a big deal, duh. She’s a spitting image of both my husband and myself. She looks like Mommy 😏 and has Daddy’s personality 😍! She’s super curious about everything, happy as hell, and loves everyone. People at school call her “Layla the Mayor”. She has to say hello to everyone we meet and has such an awesome heart for a young child. She doesn’t like to see people get hurt, and she wants to comfort them. She’s not perfect either, she can have an attitude (not sure where she got it from🤔😅), she will be a bit rough at times, and she decided to learn the word NO 😑.. However, we don’t expect perfect.

Everyone wants a perfect child, and that’s why children grow up to be entitled adults. Their upbringing, whomever raised or didn’t raise them, never told them no.. Never gave it to them real, and let them learn from mistakes because they don’t believe their child could ever make a mistake. **** No judgments here on how you raise your children, simply stating my thoughts **** However, we don’t expect our child to be perfect at anything. We expect her to have fun, be a child, learn about respect, learn to appreciate others and to fail, but learn from her failures and move forward.

She’s only going to be TWO, (again it’s that important it needs to be in caps, lol) but I am proud to be raising a daughter. She will flourish in all she does because we will let her fail, and then explain to her that it’s okay to fail, but it’s not okay to give up. If you fail, and you continue to work hard, only good things will come. There will be many factors that can knock her down, but the ones that arise, she will face them with perservearance and strength with her parents by her side.

I said this won’t be long.. I lied. Oops!

To all the women of the world, celebrate today knowing you have a long road ahead but if you keep pushing, nothing will stop you. Celebrate knowing your sisters, mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters, neices, are still fighting for equality but won’t ever give up. Celebrate knowing you’re a strong woman that will make a difference no matter your status or job title. Celebrate because you’re the shit, and that’s all that needs to be said. 😋

Happy International Women’s Day!

Toddler Travels : The Crossings☀️

Here is a little Toddler Travels for you.. since my baby isn’t really a baby blogger anymore. Lay is 16 months and acts grown, so not a baby anymore.. so I guess toddler life it is. The goal is to update you guys on Layla’s travels with “Toddler Travels” 😀 !! So here is the first one … and not to mention, Kev and I always tell her that Layla has been to way more places in 16 months since being born, then we did at her age… she better appreciate it, HA! 😅

Anyways, I’ll start with the most recent place we went.. and I am still debating on showing her travels in the past couple of months as well.. or just move forward🤔 hmmm.. I’ll think about it.

Here is Lay at The Crossings in Colonie, NY. So far she’s been here twice (as a toddler), and it’s always been super packed. The first time was on a Saturday, the second was on a Sunday and still packed.. I think if she was just a LITTLE BIT older, it would be way more fun for her. She loves other kids, and climbing and running.. however, some of the sets to climb on are above her level (for now) so she would get frustrated. As soon as her Dada put her on the swing set (her fav) she was fine.

All in all, it’s one of my favorite places to relax, run, walk and chill.. but for toddlers, I would recommend going during the week.. my assumption would be that it’s wayyyyyy less people there.

Happy Travels!

Two Forks & Flowers🌿

Hi y’all.. I know it’s been some time, again. I have to stop saying that, and just be more current.. I’ll work on that. On the other hand, I wanted to start September off with lots of positivity, support and love! Two Forks & Flowers is not a random title.. I am going somewhere with this, I promise!

I would like to introduce you to, Two Forks & Flowers. Two Forks & Flowers is an original reality show created by two best friends that want to share their ideas for your next best dinner party! Oh yeah, and I happened to know these two beautiful ladies from childhood! I don’t want to give too much insight, because I want you to check out their links and of course their YouTube channel..

However, I can say.. they basically bring Pinterest to your table. Looking to do a dinner party? Lunch party? A party that requires some fancy DIY, cute decor and amazing recipes? They’re your girls!

Rebecca and Lauren are two Long Island ladies, who want to share their love for fresh ingredients and cute table top settings. Their YouTube channel can give you a better idea of their style (better then I can explain). I just wanted to show some support and love for the work they have done thus far and looking forward to all of their growth.

I am a “foodie” and “Pinterestie” person, on the low-low.. (Gordon Ramsay, is life) and I was super excited to see this combination put together, and by people I grew up with!

Support & Show love, and of course get some amazing ideas for your next party! Follow their links below ☀️

Family Yearbooks

Super excited to share this blog post. My family has started growing, and we would love to find something perfect to start some type of memory or yearbook. This blog post is great because it shares one of their methods of saving memories, by using shutterfly! Now that we have our little bundle of princess on her way, to add to our fur family (husky; meeka and american feline; Otis) and my husband and myself.. this would be an awesome project to do! First year married, First year with Pup, First year with our new princess! Highly recommend this blog!

Thanks so much for an awesome blog post that I feel great re-blogging! @ForeverYoungMoms !! – Follow their blog to check out their maternity stories, family or birth stories!! Great family friendly blog!!

Live colorfully or dye trying.

This week I went to my favorite full service salon in the capital region, Hair Journeys, and had my hair done a few times. We started off by doing a really cool braided pony tail so that I could look a bit sassy for my Movie date with my husband. 🙂

I shortly returned back to hair journeys a day later to start the lightening process for my hair.  Although I had went darker on my hair and cut it into a bob about 4.5  months ago, I decided I wanted to go lighter and a brown color. We started the process, and I ended up having my stylist and owner of Hair Journeys LLC, Nicole Daly, put my hair into two braids because I had a dinner date with the husband!

As my hair settled over night, I went back to the salon to get my final color, wash, trim and style ! I absolutely LOVE my new color and even with the trimming of the dead ends, my hair grew immensely since 4.5 months ago when we chopped it all off into the bob! Check out the growth below!!

The best part of this Hair Journey (see what I did there😏) was the fact that with the lightening process and trim, and the dye, my hair stayed VERY healthy!  I wear a lot of protective hair styles so I know that makes a difference, however when I do have my hair not protected, I try not too put too much heat or mess with it too much. Let’s just say… I am extremely happy with the outcome 😍💁🏽!!

Valentines Day | LOVE.

Hi all, not going to make a huge post for this weekend.  I just want to give a huge shout out to my Husband.  My husband told me early Friday afternoon to be ready by 5:15pm and get dressy.  He didn’t say much more than that, and I didn’t have any questions.  Of course by 5:15pm, I was showered and dressed up, ready to go out.  Before we left, he took a selfie with me, and our little furry son and daughter were getting jealous….. So of course Meeka and Otis had to take a picture with us. (They love photography, just like their momma ☺️).

We ended up at a Fine Dining Greek cuisine resteraunt not too far from our home, and it was AMAZING.  No lie, no jokes, no over exaggerating… Our food was AWESOME!  The place was very intimate and cozy, and classy, but best of all provided amazing service and food!  I was very surprised because I had no idea what we were doing and he already provides for me and our family every single day, so for him to take me out just meant that much more to me. 😄

Of course we couldn’t finish our Valentine’s Day without getting fried ice cream before we headed home..if you don’t know what it is or never had it… Well, you’re missing out!  The fried ice cream didn’t last long and we had a nice relaxing evening on the couch watching Netflix.  This weekend holiday was great, because I just got to relax with my husband, our pets and he spoiled me.. Once again.
So HUGE shout out and big ups to the real MVP, our family provider, our protector and Laylas Daddy.. my Husband, Kevin. ♥️😘 oh & this was our first MARRIED Valentine’s Day ☺️!!

Feeling "Pregnant"

Weird title? Yes, however my whole pregnancy so far I didn’t feel “pregnant” like many others at this point.  At first I always wondered why I am so much smaller than everyone else that I know during the same amount of weeks, however, thru educating myself, I realized everyone’s bodies are different.  Everyone goes thru different changes at different times and I’m quite alright with that.  I was only discouraged because I wasn’t really seeing a bump. It took my bump quite some time to show up and show out.  I noticed I started to get bigger however, to everyone else, they didn’t notice until I reached around 7 months which was only about two weeks ago.

I am officially 30 weeks pregnant today and can fully say that I feel “pregnant”. In my first trimester I was very sick all the time and everything bothered me. All smells, especially any protein, really hit a nerve. During my second trimester, it seemed to get much better, however we did have a small hiccup and had to visit labor and delivery for possible kidney issues. Both Layla and I, ended up being fine and Daddy took great care of us!  Second trimester was fun because I started to really feel baby girl kick, and move and react to music, and light. She also gave me cravings of sweets and juices, which was random because I never craved sweets that much in my life.

Throughout my pregnancy so far, I constantly go on walks with the pup, and jogs, and we bring her to a golf course/dog park that has extensive hills.  This has kept me moving and in motion, even during the cold weather. As I tarted nearing third trimester, I realized I finally started to gain weight, and started feeling Braxton hicks and back pain. All which are doable, until I realized I have become an insomniac.  I tried my hardest and there was nothing I could do, but stay awake. My body did not want to sleep as much as I kept telling it to try. It was very, very hard to sleep and was becoming upsetting because I just couldn’t give my body the rest it needs.  I JUST started to sleep better, but it’s still difficult and I just have to cuddle with my Husband to try and get any sleep. It usually works🤗, and then I feel bad because Layla kicks him all night. She’s sorry Daddy! 😋

Now that I am 30 weeks (which to most doesn’t seem like a milestone) I am starting to feel, pregnant.  30 weeks to me is a great countdown to her due date of April 22, however I guess in two more weeks I’ll be 8 months so I guess that’s a little more significant? Whatever! Pregnancy pains, Braxton hicks, and not being able to bend over or roll out of bed without it being difficult, is starting to officially hit me. I find simple tasks becoming more difficult, and then I realize, it’s all good.. It took me towards the end of my pregnancy to start getting these aches and pains, and oh… Not being able to wear most of my clothing anymore. Haha, it’s an awesome experience and no matter what, I know it will be worth it. No aches and pains will truly bother me, it’s just interesting to me and I am actually starting to feel “pregnant” !!

Only 10 weeks to go !! Daddy and Mommy are super excited to meet you Miss Layla Fiona ♥️😀!!

RE-BLOGGED: Logan’s Birth Story!

I decided to re-blog this post from my best friends blog (@ForeverYoungMoms). This was an awesome indication on how everyone’s birth story will be different. Whether you gave birth naturally or via C-section… You did awesome, you did great, and don’t let anyone tell you different.  After reading this post, I realized that there will be tough times but just keep believing, and having a great support system will be the key to having a great birth! Not to mention, Logan is too adorable NOT too share! So proud to say I know and love and care about this family very much!! ♥️ Now read below, Logan’s Birth Story 🤗…

On August 21, 2014 I found out that I was going to be a Mom. As I was taking the test I never thought in a million years it would be positive. When I saw the plus sign I nearly fainted. Becoming a Mom was something I dreamed about for as long as I can remember. The […]
